About KindNote

KindNote is a little jar of encouragement notes — every one written in advance by our team. Open today's note, save it as a shareable card, or pass it on to someone who could use it. Free, no sign-up, and anything you write stays only on your device.

How the jar works

We wrote 120 short encouragement notes, put them in one jar, and built a small ritual around them: each day, the date itself picks one note, and everyone who visits opens the same one. You can draw extra notes at random whenever you like, save any note as a card image, and pass it on to a friend through your own messaging app.

The jar stays up all year. Around the New Year it gains a pocket of New Year wishes, and the rest of the year it is simply what it says on the tin: a kind note for today.

The honest part

A fair question is whether your note came from another person. It did not — every note here was written in advance by our team, and we'd rather say that plainly than dress the jar up as something it isn't. Passing a note on is real, though: when you send a card to a friend, that part — the part that matters — is genuinely from you.

Notes you write yourself in the "write a note to keep" box are a private drawer, not a mailbox: they are stored only in your browser, on your device, and are never sent anywhere.

One day we may add a true note exchange, where people really do swap notes with each other. If that happens it will live at this same address, clearly labelled as an exchange — and this daily jar will stay exactly what it is.

Part of a small fleet

KindNote is part of a small fleet of single-purpose web toys: each one does one thing, loads instantly, and asks for nothing — no account, no download, no paywall. The fleet is supported by advertising so the toys stay free.
